Wall Envy Art

My friend Lou started this little business and she makes really lovely pieces to go on your wall. I was looking at her website as Rufi was coming up to his first birthday. I commissioned her for a birthday present for him. This is a thing I REALLY LIKE. :) see what you think.

In life I'll suffer...

I was reading Don Carson's book on suffering and he states his book 'How Long O Lord' is for people wanting to get prepared to suffer. We all know we will suffer at some point in life and I want to be prepared. I know that suffering doesn't disqualify my faith in God and his son Jesus. I know that in theory but it's not yet been tested. For some people it has been and is being. I have some dear friends who are walking through difficult seasons and I want to walk with them and genuinely love them. Carson recommends this book 'Lament For A Son' for friends of or for those in the midst of suffering. I bought it and have been reading it over the past few months. It is written by a Christian father who's son was killed in a climbing accident. It tells of his journey through grief. What helped him through it, what he felt at different stages and the realisation that some things that he thought would be of great comfort, actually weren't. It has been enlightening. I've wept a lot as I've read it...

Matt Giles

For those of you who don't know him, Matt Giles is a guy who leads the musical worship at our church in Exeter.  He has got a gift for writing beautiful songs for Jesus and for people.

I went on his website again recently and found on the 'songs' page lots of free downloads of his recent music - I was promptly downloading it all! I especially like 'This Was Your Design' and 'For Your Glory'. Like these A LOT.

Was inspired to wall paper my porch after watching this youtube video ...

I said I'd never blog...

So, my husband blogs and I can see why he does.  He's got something to say (he's constantly talking about ideas, concepts, strategies, books he loves, people he's learning from) and there are people reading it.

I, however, am not very good at explaining concepts, struggle to get through books and when reading a book which begins to talk strategy I skip that bit and look for the stories.

Well, I've been inspired by a few ladies who have blogs gathering nice ideas, photographs that they like, recipes and other jolly things. And I've really enjoyed reading them. So I thought I'd just share a few things I like and see if you like them too...
